X-fi, one speaker doesn't work in 2 modes.

Yesterday as I was calibrating my X-fi's THX console, my rear left speaker (logitech Z-5300e) stopped working in both Game and Audio Creation mode (worked and then stopped after a few tests on the little noise maker in the console). Works just fine in Entertainment mode though...

This gets a big WTF from me... I only need the rear speakers in game mode!!! ::: pissed off :::
 
have you tried reseting the thx calibration to default. that might be your problem... the software is compensating for the distance from the person and might have shut off one of the speakers.
