Hi!

I have just plucked in my new X-Fi Exreme Music sound card into my system
( Asus P4C800-Deluxe(875P), P4@3.5GHz, 1GB PC4400, 6600GT )

Now, nomatter what game I throw at it, my system freezes, and the last second of sound get looped. F.E.A.R., FAR CRY, HALF LIFE2 and QAUKE4 are affected...

Before my X-Fi i used my onboard sound (SOUNDSTORM), and I had no lockups att all..

Does anyone here recognize this problem, or have a solution for this? Yes I updated my drivers and games...

I'm getting quite frustrated here :-(

Ive had my screen blue with some dotted lines, just a cpl, & a loop of last sound. Had it happen maybe 2x's. No idea as to what caused it and like I said in 2 months happened twice, once in DAoC and once in Myst5. Wasnt sure if was a graphics driver issue or the X-FI. Oh and I use the same MB as you

I just found out that my graphics card wasn't sitting in the AGP proberly... Now my lockups are gone .. hehe... silly thing, Maybe something happened when I was installing the X-Fi card..

btw... Love the sound !!

Not to be critical but how did you have soundstorm when you listed an Intel chipset motherboard that uses an ADI AD1985 SoundMAX chip?

Did you do a system upgrade from an nForce2 system or was it just a mistake?
