so after installing Vista x64 and using Windows Media player and such, I get snap crackle and pop, like pouring milk on rice crispies... Also, I am not sure if its my sound drivers, but I have gotten 2 freezes, where I cant even move my mouse, both times, music was playing... I got the latest drivers for all my stuff, and yah vista is buggy to some, and not to others, just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this dilema.

Try moving it to a different PCI slot as said. I had those issues, then moved it to a PCI slot where it was not sharing IRQs and I have had no issues in anything but BF2 since (which might be software as well, since it is known that this game only crackles when on Ultrahigh and during airstrikes).

I use Vista as well BTW :)

Well I would move it to the Slot that has no issues. BF2 may need a update etc. ;)

I just got done installing Vista 64 Friday march 30 It wasn't until I installed the 64 bit drivers for my G15 and the MX 518 that I stopped getting the BSOD. in fact just prior to finding those drivers I was about ready to toss Vista 64 out the window I have been fighting it for two days. While playing BF 2142 or while playing music with media player 11 no popping noises

This might be a longshot but is your system OC'ed? Read somewhere that many people where having problems with their X-Fi when they OC their systems.

On the other hand, got a X-Fi myself and I haven't experienced any unusual noises, just dumb Creative driver problems.
