X-Fi Fatal1ty with Vista Ultimate X64?

Ok with my christmas money I bought a X-Fi. I downloaded the latest drivers from Creative's website. I had no problems with the install. Music seems fuzzy sounding, and under any load I get crackling/popping sounds from the speakers. The high notes are sort of muted, not as high as they should be.

Also if I open creative audio console and switch it from game mode to entertainment mode, if will not play any sounds.

My specs or in my sig. The abit in9 32x max is a 680i board, and the G.Skill memory is in two 2GB dimms. Thanks for any help.
 
Okay, I fixed the problem. The I updated the motherboards BIOS to 1.4 beta, all the problems went away. X-Fi sounds great! :D
