x-fi enabling EAX question

hi all

If I am playing a game that has EAX as an option within the game setup, do I also have to enable EAX within the creative game mode app? SHOULD I also enable it in the game app?

Which takes priority - enabling EAX from the creative app, or enabling it from within a game?

Enable EAX in the Game and in the Game Mode's settings. For speakers disable CMSS3D, for Headphones enable it.

Agree with above, except Ive listened to stuff on speakers with/without the CMSS enabled........I think things sound better with CMSS enabled. I could be way off base but thats just me. :D

3 buddies and I own the card. 2 for and 2 against enabling it with speakers. It seems to be a mix bag and personal tastes so I'm not surprised. Nothing to be off base about though.

I found that when I had it enabled, tried to listen MP3s made from older tracks, it killed the sound and made it sound terrible. So I started with all of the settings disabled and then enabled them one and only one at a time. CMSS-3D was the worse for these older low-fi 50's rock and Mo-Town tracks. It did work with EAX enbled during music playback of these same tracks for some unknown reason. Maybe this was our rigs?

Whether or not you should enable CMSS3D depends on how many speakers you have (ie. 2, 4, or 5+), and what you are doing (ie. game, music, or movie).
 
Ok guys, I hate to be an ass here - but I wasn't asking about CMSS3D. I just want to know if I need to enable EAX within the x-Fi game mode console if the game I am playing has EAX as an option within the game settings.
