Well i bought the X-FI Fatality Champion series for my new computer. Was all excited when it finally came in the mail and plugged the bad boy into my new computer. Then came time to install the drivers. No matter what i did i could not get the damn drivers to install, the installation would either lock up or error out at 90 - 98% completion. So i immediately swapped pci slots and got a different set of drivers but to no avail the same issue. As a result of this I decided the issue must be a result of other drivers installed on my computer. So i did a fresh install of XP (wasn't a big deal because i just put the thing together the day before). After installing the network drivers and chipset drivers i attempted to do another install of the x-fi drivers. Same exact issue. I was about to RMA the pos when i decided to give it one last go. Another fresh install of XP but this time I installed the X-FI drivers first the viola it works..........
Now im just wondering if any one else had the same issue, im guessing it was something to do with my chipset drivers. I have the EVGA nForce 680i mobo.
