x-fi config utility question

Well. My DVD drive has the problem of not being able to read CDs anymore, so I have to resort to getting all software off the company's site. But I think the audio console might be different between the one they have online and the one that comes with the CD (the one pictured on the box seems to be more graphical whereas the web version is all tabs), and I'm not sure if there's a difference functionality wise. And to be honest, I'm not sure how to mess with these settings either. But the main question is, is there a difference? And if so, any ideas how I can get the normal version of it?

That's pretty unfortunate for your dvd drive

No. It's the same. It's just you can't use the graphical interface to control your settings... I've tried the web download first, then the disc, and the programs on the disc *looks* much nicer and I preferred that.

You can try use an external cd drive, or build one with one functioning cd drive and 5.25" external enclosure, then you can read stuff off the CD.

Ironic...
You can buy an X-Fi and you cant buy a new DVD drive to install the software.

I'm not trying to be insensitive but...You know,...new DVD/RW combo drives are pretty cheap nowadays...you should spring for one.
