X-fi capacitor mod?

I've read several articles about this mod, and since I know someone who could help me (de)solder a cap this would be a great low-cost mod, if, I can get some of these. I wonder if this mod is worth it. I checked up eBay for the Rubycon Blackgate that the author mentioned:

Almost $40 for one capacitor?!?! If this is the only mod I want to do for now and I'm not [H]ard enough to put on that overkill cap, could I get by with something a little less extravagant and more affordable? For example the bang/buck midrange capacitor? I'm not sure if this forum is the right place to be asking this, but thanks anyway and happy holidays.

its just a power filter, they are already upping the value from 470 to 2200 uF

any decent quality cap will be fine IMO

I'm not going to say that there are not folks that can hear the difference between caps when they are in series with the signal, but a filter is just there to sink out any 60 Hz hum, if you have enough you are good.
