I just installed windows vista ultimate and my sound works every once in a while, but only for a minute and then goes out for long periods of time.
Does anyone know if there is any way around this?

Is it just drivers or could it be some kind of conflict?

Thanks

I just installed Vista x64 as well.

Everything was great at the start.

Then the hiss/crackle/pop crap came about.

I uninstalled all the drivers, used Guru3d Driver Sweeper to take out all Creative files. Re-installed latest X-Fi Drivers, and all has been good since.

If that doesn't work. uninstall all Creative drivers, move X-Fi to another PCI slot, and re-install drivers. (Vista is pretty good with IRQ handling, so may not be it)

Im quite sure that it isnt some conflict....try cleaning the drivers out with DCP removing the card and putting it in a seperate pci slot and reinstalling the drivers

there was a recent thread about x-fi and vista where i posted a link to the ,iso for the new creative software
