Seems like everytime I reboot, my mic +20db boost going back to the default OFF setting, then I forget about it, then later in the day I try talking to people and they are always like "WHAT?!? CAN NOT HEAR YOU". This never happened in the past with the same driver, however I just formatted and now it keep disabling the Mic boost. Any idea would be helpful, thanks!

I am using a X-Fi XtremeMusic on Vista Ultimate 64

I had this happening to me also - I'm using an X-Fi XtremeMusic on Vista x64 Ultimate and everytime I rebooted or logged off, the mic boost enable would uncheck itself. The only resolution I found was to update to Creative's latest/greatest beta drivers. So far, so good.

The latest drivers seem to do away with the CTHELPER.exe process which seems to reset certain settings. I would always disable this from running at startup in the registry with the older drivers. When I didn't I would have to reconfigure my speaker settings and bass management config.

I had this problem too. If you have a motherboard that uses Realtek ACL, you need to download the latest audio drivers for it. I always thought it was my Creative X-Fi's problem but it's not. I just used Windows Update and it actually found the newest Realtek drivers for me and I haven't had a problem since.

i have this problem too but i'm very weary of updating creative drivers in general....... :(

Had this same problem and updated to the new BETA drivers from creative, that fixed it. So far I have yet to notice any downside from the new beta drivers.
