Suddenly, www.hardforum.com started to be redirected to some shopping site.

hardforum.com works fine, though. Cleard the DNS cache and it affects both IE and Mozilla.

Is it me or the [H]?

Works fine for me also after a DNS cache flush. Try running SpyBot, Ad-Aware and HijackThis.

After a second flushing, it started working correctly.

The address I was getting was: 69.90.42.5
I am now getting: 69.56.175.234/235

May have been a momentary issue with a DNS server, since they were both on the 69.x.x.x octet.

Same here, you are running the programs Talon Blackrazor mentioned regularly, right?

edit: you fixed it, so it's not really a problem. I've never heard of that happening before, though.

I hope hickups like this dont get out of hand now that we have
34 Trillion Trillion Trillion ip address.

http://hardforum.com/ (without the www) is the preferred way to access. It should work with the www, but some people like dropper have experienced DNS issues with it so it's just best to fix your bookmark. :)

Is it that friggin hard to keep www.hardforum.com and hardforum.com right next to eachother in a zone file? Come on admins . Can't believe any site would have trouble between the two.

is it that friggin hard to NOT type the www. in front of the domain? :D

Remember, different websites have different situations, so what may seem "Easy" for you may be harder to control for another site.

For my site, rather than getting the joy of dealing with zone files, No-IP just redirects everything to my ip. So to use www or straight TLD i have to do a whole lota rewrite rules on the fly. Turns out it was all for not because the place i moved my server to doesn’t have port 80, so I have no-ip set to redirect www. to my my ip with appropriate port, while straight TLD just goes right to my IP. Just an example of how not every site is cut and dry.

by any rare chance was it shopnav thing? i had that for awhile, let someone use my computer ...

anyways, just use adware and find any shopnav file to delte.. :p

No it's not, and that's why you can access the site from www.hardocp.com. I bookmarked it quite a while ago and it's worked ever since. However the "official" domain is hardforum.com.
