Excellent work King. It just keeps getting better and better. I think you may have replaced EOC for my 6-10 times daily stats fix. :D

Looked at the graphs and realized the Darktiger is flatening my line.

I wasn't quite sure where to post this but I have a feature request for the King_N. I love the new stuff that is being put into the stats page.

But would it be possible to put the number of active CPUs on the page when you compare you stats to another user so you have an idea how many machines they are folding with? I know I can look it up on Stanford's stats page but it'd be cool if it was included for like callouts and races.

Just my $0.02

It would be nice, but there is an issue with the idea. The stats come from this site generated by Stanford:

No one is allowed to pull info directly from the public web page; it was tried and caused tons of problems.

If you could talk Stanford into adding the active CPU info to that text file then I’m pretty sure the code could be changed to accommodate you. ;)
 
i love the new stuff added to the web site, bit a have a gripe. i registered the name i fold under on the site, and yet in the california members i am not listed, i have triple checked that my info is right. i need to be able to look at my personle stats page so i cna display my badge. if fold under Lozaning is that helps.


edit, i found my stats page, but in not under california folders


 
If I remember correctly, you have to register with the site so King knows where you are from.

At least, that's what I did way back when. :D

my bad then, i didnt see the whole 2 page thing. sorry for all the trouble. now that i have aces to my stat thing, is there a way to automatically(sp) put it at the end of all my post?
 
as far as functionality of the page I have nothing to add, but from a pure design/layout point of view...

can you PLEASE get rid of the flashing blue/red "how to join..." messages on the main page???

they look like they belong on a geocities site from 1995.

Along the same note, I'd love to see a nicer top banner, the flamed background is way too distracting and it's not even put together right as you can see where it's been spliced from many pieces.

Why have a map of the US in the members section with the outline of states when you can't click on the states? do an image map or get rid of it completely (not to mention it's been badly chopped out of a white background and you can see the white outline.

Don't take it the wrong way, I just think it needs some graphical help to be perfect, that's all.

Good job on the practical side of it and stats, they look good and load up quick which is all we can ask for.

as a webmaster of several sites and a creater of many others as a side job, I just can't help myself but cringe everytime I go to hardfolding.com :shrug:

flame away, to me it looks fugly yet works great, so I'm just offering my opinion in hopes of getting the first part fixed, lol

Bascially anytime anything comes up around hardfolding.com the shit hit's the fan. Everyone ends up getting all pissed off at the world, everyone who offers help get turned away after being told only one guy is doing it. Material is always requested for postings/update's but never makes it there or something like thay. It's some weird twisted entity that's best left not touched even with K*'s unit.

Somethings I like about hardfolding.com, some things I personally don't. It's best for all just to nod your head and move along. Just an example of what's at work here, notice no hyperlink from OCP to hardfolding.com. Note we can't speak of the evil IRC chat channel here @ hardforum. It strange.... to put it w/o swearing.

ummm so? lol, criticism is great, it provides feedback that the site webmaster can either listen to and ponder over it possibly taking something from it or ignore it completely.

If he thinks my points are pure crap then so be it, but that's what you get when you run a site, there's nothing wrong with that either.

Just because it's free doesn't mean it shouldn'y be critiqued, we're all grateful that it's there, but it can be better and with very little effort to boot.

If I get a chance this weekend I'll throw a new logo together that I like and email it over, if he likes it he can use it , if not then whatever.

The other changes are a matter of 5 minutes spent working on the site, give me access to the FTP and I'll do it for all I care.
