I'm looking for a little better CPU for my home server (currently running a Q8300 Core 2 Quad - SLGUR), specifically looking for a Q9550 (SLB8V) or the lower power Q9550S (SLGAE) variant. I would also settle for one of the following: Q9450 (SLAWR), Q9450S (SLAWY). If it's a trade situation, I'm also willing to cross-ship my Q8300 (plus cash, of course) if you have good Heat/eBay feedback. If you have one of the CPUs let me know!
 
I have a Q9550 going unused. Send me an offer :)
 
I have a Q9650 that's in a spare machine I have for testing and projects for work.

It's running at 3.6GHz (400x9), about as fast as you'll get on air on a socket 775
machine. It's got the 12MB L2 cache. CPU-Z shows 1.28v on the CPU.

I don't really want to part with it, but I could be persuaded for the right deal. :)
 
Thank you for the interest, PMs forthcoming. I was really hoping for the lower power Q9550S part *fingers crossed*

Have you looked into s771 mod and use a xeon cpu? A even lower powered CPU to look at is the Xeon L5430, L5420, or L5410. TDP is 50w
