Seriously, no more then LESS then a year after building my 775 rig which I was WELL aware of the 1366 socket for the i7 coming out back in Oct 2008, and you've ALREADY released a DIFFERENT socket? 1156? Sweet Jesus! How the hell are we supposed to keep up and be able to upgrade our systems decently without having to farking buy a new mobo and RAM because you guys can't make up your minds and we end up getting screwed and paying for it!! You can't even keep a socket standard for at least 2 years, let alone 1? I've lost track now i've where were going with this, i3 for budgets, i5 for mid and i7 for hardcore? Now i've heard something about an i9? WTF??? Would you please standardize and stick with a socket and RAM solution for awhile, is it too much ask???

Your rant is pointless 1366 socket is here to stay. maybe even longer than 478 and 775 lasted. 1156 is a new socket to get the Core i7 into the mainstream. anyone with a 1366 board and cpu have no reason to get an 1156. people who have a 775 and want to upgrade but cant afford the 1366 will go with the 1156. this has been apart of their roadmap from more than a year ago, how did you JUST hear about this?
 
You can always go with AMD. That shit has not changed in forever! ;)

terrible attempt at a rant. socket 775 has been around for a while and still getting regular use. 1366 and 1156 have both been on intel's roadmap for a long time with well defined plans. you would have to have been living under a rock for any of this to be news to you.

It has? Wait, wait, wtf Charlie Brown? Since when as Intel EVER had a track record of keeping their promises of keeping tech here to stay? As soon as DDR4 becomes prolific and cheaper it will start ALL OVER again with a new farking socket and then a new mobo design/chipset for it and were all left getting the shaft and having to pay for it because we can't upgrade any equipment BECAUSE INTEL KEEPS CHANGING THE FUCKING SOCKET SPECIFICATIONS EVERYTIME THEY ADD A FUCKING DIODE AND TRANSISTOR TO THEIR CPU'S!!!!!

Intel road map and product meetings probably go like this

Intel CEO and VP "Gents, we need a new CPU this year, and it needs to be different. What can we do to nail the coffin on AMD's lid more?

Intel Geeks "Well, we can slap a newly designed logo with a naming system that makes no fucking sense so the general consumer FEELs like its a new CPU. Well go ahead and add SSE14 and some L4 cache for the hell of it"

Intel CEO and VP "Awesome idea, how will implement this terrific new technology?"

Intel Geeks "Well, were gonna have to put out a new socket, just so it REALLY drives home the point that this tech is so new and uber, it cant run on our old sockets"

Intel CEO and VP "Bolly good idea gents! Now lets have a cigar party on our private sex yachts and celebrate another great year of screwing the general consumer with refabbed old tech with new label, senseless naming system and a new socket to wrap this shitball up! "

I was joking earlier, but if you have this much of an issue with it and have to get abusive, you should just buy and AMD box with DDR2.
