*****EDIT2**** It seems that no one has been upgrading their video cards recently. After thinking things over, I feel its best now to just buy a 4850 or some such card and put it in the wifes machines, moving hers to the roomies. Her computer has an x38, which supports CF. So I'm looking for either a 5770/GTS450 in the $75 range (for my computer), a 5750 in the $60 range, or a 4870/4850 in the $50 range (for her's). The previous times I got offers for the 8800GT or 9800GTX which won't work as the X38 doesn't support SLI. PLEASE stay in contact! I've already tried to talk to 3 people, only to have no replies 2 days later. I was hoping to install this weekend, now I hope for next.

Short story: I need the best GPU I can get for as close to $75 or $80 (actual amount I can pay will depend on paycheck). Looking at getting a 5750, 5770, 6850 from a very kind soul, GTS450, etc. Will consider a 9800GTX or GTS250, but seeing as they are DX10, only at a very reduced price. Shipping will be to 95966, CC PP as payment.

Long Story: I bought my roommate (her money) the guts to a system perhaps a year ago now. Was a HT P4, with board, ram, GPU, etc. He didn't tell me the NB had no sink. I thermal glued one one, and thought all was well. The Antec SP 450W I gave her blew up on her, and we replaced it. When I was installing the new one, I noticed her board had busted caps. I asked her about stability, and she said it reboots on her every now and then. (gee, thanks for telling me!) I upgraded my system and past old parts down to her, but I forgot to get her a GPU. I dug in my parts bin and found my old X1800XT. Plugged it into her system, but the screen is all garbage. Looking to buy me a new GPU, and pass parts down again. I currently have a 5750, so looking for something at least that good.

I don't really have any parts for trade. I do have her old P4, not sure of the model. (I think its the one right before northwood.) I have her S478 cooler, Cooler master pro 4? Two WD 120GB IDE drives. A Dlink 604 router, not sure what else.

Edit 1) I seem to be getting all kinds of offers for older DX10 cards. Again, I will consider them, but not looking to spend more then $50 for such a card. I'll toss that into my wife's machine and pass her 8800GS to the roomie. I can go on newegg and get a GTS450 for $87 after shipping and rebate, so offers of a DX9 or 10 only card for $70 don't really interest me. I've seen GTX450s on this forum for $70 or $75 as well, along with a very few 5750s. I've had many offers for 8800s and the like, and I WILL consider them, but I'm really looking for a more modern card.

My evening bump.

While today is payday, I'll probably wait until Monday or Tuesday to make up my mind.

Got A ATI Radeon HD 4670. Maybe just keep your GFX card, and give her this, as yours should be faster. Technically. Not Sure. Lol.

I do have a GTX 285 OC, but not in that range. Be in the least $120.00 If I sell it. Let me know!

I've considered the Bstock. I haven't seen any amazing deals in my price range. I've seen better deals on this forum.

I think so far I've got a GTS250 and/or a 4830/50 for around $40ish. I'll have to double check, but I don't remember any good deals on the cards I'm looking for. 5770 for $90ish is as good as I've seen from what I remember. I'm not looking for a great card, but nearly anything faster then my 5750 for around $60-$75 is what I'm interested in.

I have a BFG 9800 GT EcoIntelligence card listed for $50 shipped in the lower 48. Nice card that does not require 6 or 8-pin power.

Ok, here is where we stand. I've had offers of a 9800GTX for $30 + shipping, or a GTS250 for $40 shipped. I'm lumping any 4850, 4870, or 4890s in with these cards. I know some of them are faster, but I've had MANY offers of a 4870 or 90 for $70+ Sorry, but I'm better off price vs performance to get one of the cards I've mentioned. I've had someone offer me a 5750 for $75, and I've seen another 5750 on this forum for $60. Looking for any offer like this. Finally, the only card that's an upgrade over mine was a single offer for a 5770 for $90. I've seen other 5770s on this forum for around the same price so I'll have to do some digging. (some even come with games.) Anyone (within reason of course...) with a 5770 for $60-$75 will likely get the sale. If not I'll probably just grab one of those 9800GTX cards for $40ish.

Yes I do know that, but I need a video card for the roomies computer. If I buy the 5770, I'll pass my 5750 onto another machine, and pass its 8800GS to her.

Pretty much my last bump. I think in the last 2min I flipped from just buying a cheap card for the mate, to giving me an upgrade. I may end up flipping a quarter...

Seems that I waited to long and some of the cards I've been looking at have been sold. If anyone has anymore offers I'd love to see them.

Had to start bumping again. If you offer, please reply when I send you something.

The 5850 looks nice, but horribly overpriced. (its slower then the 6870, which new is in the $165 range.) Assuming you're talking about the 4870s, that's very tempting. I'd prefer the 1GB models however and I don't have 4 plugs on my EA500.
