WTB: STRONG Internet Adapter (USB or PCI) and external antenna (upgraded)

Looks like the cheapest POS wireless adapter from frys isn't strong enough to pick up the signal from my neighbor's wifi (shared)

Looking for a PCI or USB wireless adapter. G only is fine but really looking for something tested and proven. Really want an external upgraded antenna that's directional.
