If you can get an AMD am3 heatpipe cooler for $11 shipped do it. Otherwise put a Nexus PWM fan on the cooler you have, or a Thermalright. I think Arctic Cooling has the cheapest decent PWM fans at the moment.
Oherwise I have an AMD AM3 Athlon II X2 255 cooler for $11 shipped, or a Semperon 140 FOR $10.
new even.
Which Cooler Master.
Looked at ebay, a couple AMD heatpipe coolers at $10-$12 and the ones with copper corner tabs (best) about $17.
This is down about $10 or more from last year.
What is your chip wattage? I really would change your Cooler Master fan, the Nexus 120 is an SPCR favorite for quiet pc.
The heat pipe AMD coolers are rated 130 watts which usually makes them very quiet at lower watt use. The 92mm AC fan can be glued on for more airflow and even less noise.
Second thoughts.
Is Smart Fan enabled in your BIOS? Unless you are using an overclocked 95 or 130 watt CPU and a CM TX101 it should NOT be spinning fast enough for wind tunnel, vacuum cleaner noise.
