I have an ASUS EAH5970 with original packaging. I just replaced it with a 6990. When I pulled it out and put it on the shelf a few months ago, it was in perfect working condition...ran pretty cool and could maintain a decent 10-15% overclock, though I never really pushed it too high or messed with the voltages.
