Heat: Yes, I am new to Heat

Ebay: Clicky-clicky

I am looking for an AMD64 CPU. I have ordered 3 different 3500+'s only to have them cancelled or thrown on backorder indefinately.

I have all my other components for this new build and it's a bit annoying to not be able to find the CPU I want at a fair price.

If you have any socket 939 AMD64's that you are willing to let go at a fair price, please let me know what you have AND your asking price when you PM or Email me.

I am also looking for 1or 2 licensed copies of XP Pro...

Thank you,

Ankh

I thought you might want to know, if you are getting it for gaming, the 3400+ outperforms the 3500 for most games.

Mainly because the 3400 can have 1mb Cache, compared to the 3500 having only 512k cache, though it has the extra channel for memory.

just a heads up incase you didn't know.

Like I said, the 3400 can have 1mb cache vs the 3500's 512k cache.

For games they benefit more from the 1mb cache then the dual memory the 3500 has, not really much of a difference, but for price wise the 3400 is just a better choice IMO if you are doing it for gaming reasons.

Our 512KB vs. 1MB L2 cache size comparison reveals something interesting: it's not that a 512KB L2 cache isn't big enough for Doom 3 (which is the case with the Pentium 4), it's that the Athlon 64's on-die memory controller effectively masks the need for a large L2 cache in Doom 3. Going to a 1MB L2 cache results in less than a 4% performance improvement, much less than what we saw with Prescott vs. Northwood.

Bottom line: cache size is far less important for the Athlon 64 than on the Pentium 4 as you would expect thanks to the on-die memory controller.

Overclocking 100mhz would make up for that

Yeah, I'm not gonna dump on your opinion or anything, but in most reviews that I've read, HT and cache on die tends to do more than make up for the decrease in cache amount, esp if you are an OCer...

Anyway, it's a moot point. I have had all the components to build this system sitting here for 2 weeks now waiting on a damn CPU. This is the second weekend in a row that I THOUGHT I was going to be building this thing. Here I sit, still waiting on a freaking 939 CPU...

Man... I hate having a system all set to go, and no CPU to put in it...

Someone out there has a 3500+ they can let go reasonably.

did you not see my post?

EDIT: Bleh im in a pm war with you.. I told you its yours if you wanted it..

Yeah... This was the first place I attempted to order from. It has turned into a 2 week fiasco...

Looks like I may have to bite the bullet and just keep trying with them. This obviously isn't working out for me...

good luck with that cpu , i went through hell to get that cpu myself, ordered from 5 different places , 4 cancelled my order without any notice, and 5th place just sent me OEM cpu instead of retail without any notice, so now i have to go through rma process to get the retail, i hate all retailers besides newegg and zipzoom.... they both have it, but at much higher price than gameve or monarchcomputer..........but atleast they have it in stock for sure.

I dont get you... I don't I keep telling you its yours if you want to send me $340 payapl ^_^
