WTB: AM4 CPU

[jfnirvana292]

Hi all looking for a AM4 cpu for around $100 or less. Let me know what you have thanks!

Are you looking for a particular model ?

Newegg has a Ryzen 5 5500 for $75 unless you want a stronger used CPU.

Not really. I’m thinking around 5600x performance.

I think the 5500 is a lot slower than the 5600x

[fantome2024]

yeah..its a neutered 5600g (maybe?)

Key Differences:

Cache: The 5600 has 32MB of L3 cache; the 5500 has only 16MB.
PCIe Support: 5600 supports PCIe 4.0, while the 5500 is limited to PCIe 3.0.
Architecture: The 5600 uses the full Zen 3 architecture (Vermeer), while the 5500 is a cut-down Cezanne chip.
Performance: The 5600 offers around 10-20% better gaming performance and is also faster in multi-threaded tasks, according to CPU Benchmarks.

You mentioned $100 or so price limit. Even a 5600 new is around $130-150.

Hoping a used one would be around there. Not a hard number.
