Hey guys, I have a question regarding HD capturing and hard drive write speeds.
I bought the Blackmagic intensity shuttle 3.0. Their website says to record 8 bit @ 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97fps = 119 MB per/sec. I'm thinking 3 drive Raid 0. I now have a Adaptec 6805E. I was wondering what your guys overall suggestion would be. Specific hard drives, a different raid controller? Thank you!

I would just go for some 7200rpm 1TB drives. You shouldn't keep the data on that RAID 0 for long if its important stuff anyways so it doesn't really need to be huge. RAID 0 is pretty easy for any controller or even MB sata ports so you should be fine with what you have.

would be my choice, 64MB cache and enterprise grade built for RAID use.

Thanks for the reply. The data would be moved on to another drive once done.

hitachi single platters will do well with sequential writes. or the new 1tb raptors if you're into paying 2.5x as much as that re4.
