My hard drive is WD caviar green wd10eacs 5400 rpm (bought it in 2008), and today I saw benchmarks reviews that show that I should be getting much faster writing speed (and maybe read as well), because Im getting about 20MBps write speed after its settles down (by write speed I mean speed when copying a movie for example to the same folder).

So I wonder what is the problem??

May not be any problem at all. How large are the files you are copying?

Edit:

Well I assume this is a few GB. However the problem you probably have is the source disk is also the destination disk. That along with fragmentation can certainly yield a 20MB/s copy.

In addition to fragmentation and the source being the same as the dest problems you drive could be bad or you could be reading or writing at the outer tracks of the drive in combination with several of the other things I mentioned. Use CrystalDiskInfo to see if the drive believes it is operating abnormally.
