Does it come with a month of free play? I don't have the cash right now to buy the expansion AND re-activate my account.

I ordered the CE from walmart.com but it won't be here till Tuesday:(

Oh well, I haven't got a level 70 yet so this gives me time to try.

WotLK is a level 70-80 zone. Even if Blizzard didn't make you buy BC first you would still have to buy BC to get from 60-70.
 
What sever you guys play on? I'm just starting over myself and am looking for friendly, good humored folks to play with. And also to probably level with. I heard if you level with a friend you get about 3x exp. That a rumor?
 
Dude, it's WOW. All you need is the key and you're good to go. No need to waste money on the CE.

No kidding. I'd really like to play but it'd be like $90 plus tax? Sheesh.

I agree here. Add to what you said plus the fact that they made it 30% faster to level in outlands, you won't see any of the old endgame, the only people in outlands right now are deathknights (LFG Outlands instance.. have 4 deathknights.. need healer.. PLEASE), no arenas worth doing, 60-71 bgs will be empty, and to basically you aren't paying for content anymore, you are paying for 10 more levels.

I don't like how blizzard can take so much time developing expansions like TBC and then make you skip past 90% of it in your 8 levels that you will litterally grind in outlands.

I know what you mean. I've been reading up on WoTLK and thought I might try it. I have the original, but now they want me to buy two expansions without even a single free month just to see the new areas. No thanks.
 
I just hit 77 earlier on my warlock, it's nice to be able to use my flying mount in Northrend now.

So far I have to say Northrend is cool but it seems like they were not planning on people leveling so fast. There are quite a few guilds who have already beat most of the lvl80 raid content(some have killed all the raid bosses already) and my guild already has 15-16 level 80s and is planning on venturing into Naxxramas 10 man about 12 hours from now (6pm EST)

not really, 60-70 is BC, 70-80 is WotLK. So of course, you're gonna need both. Can't just skip 60-70 so you can do 70-80 can you?

The starter level 80 raids really needed to be much harder. Molten Core was a shock to the system the first time you ventured in at level 60. The revamped version of Naxxramas was a joke to everybody who had done the old version.

What are you guys talking about? This isn't anything new at all. Blizzard is the not the founder of this concept. Every game in history that has had two expansions has required the one prior to it. The only exception being The Sims because they came out with so many at one time. It's the same idea as buying the original WoW and having to upgrade it. You can't just go straight to Wrath.

There are like 3 games ever that didn't require previous expansions, to buy new expansions. Guild Wars does this. I guess the Sims too. Other than that, I can't think of any. And if Blizzard decided not to do it that way, then they would need to code an entirely new area for you to level from 60-70, so that you're not going to spend your whole Wrath experience as a level 60 Human Corpse, all because you're too damn cheap to buy The Burning Crusade.

Also, why would they give you a free 30 days? How would NOT doing that be a bad marketing decision? It's about profits, numbskull. If they did that, then they'd be charging $25 for the game. Which would be stupid. Especially with such a loyal fanbase. You DO realize that Blizzard pays people to maintain the servers, and do other stuff, and at the same time tries to draw a profit, right? Blizzard is filthy ****ing rich, and I know that. But they're a corporation. They point is to make loads of money, and just because you want freebies, doesn't make them a bad business.

Get over it. BC has been out for 2 years. Same argument could be said for vanilla WoW. "Why do I have to buy original WoW when all I am going to be doing it leveling to 70 and staying in Outland?!?" See the problem?

If you want to experience the new content, buy the expansion packs. End of story. Blizzard is not out to get you. They aren't doing anything wrong.

Perhaps a job is in order, and a little less WoW.
 
By the way.. If you can level 60-70 in 15 days you dont need TBC because you can get a 15 day free trial of it from WoW's website. Its what I'm going to do.
