WoW Socket Gems question

So I just trained in my first set of socket gems i can make with JC, just a few basic ones, since they are the first ones i've been able to make, but anyways, i heard from someone, not know if this was wrong or not, but there's a way to make an item i.e. a weapon that doesn't come able to take gems, and make it so it is socketable ? is this true, or was someone full of shit lol

Not weapons... You can buy a belt buckle though which allows for an additional belt gem

Can't believe I'm responding to this thread because I haven't played this in forever and any discussion of the matter makes me want to resub...

Blacksmiths craft belt buckles to add an additional socket to belt items. Anyone can use them.
Blacksmiths can also add an additional socket to their gloves and bracers, and it requires you keep a certain level of blacksmith skill to gain the bonus from it.

What mustang said, especially the can't believe I'm responding. But to my knowledge there is no way to add a socked to a weapon, just belt buckle and bs can add glove and bracer socket. Enjoy jc, its very profitible!
