So I'm having to reinstall WoW, cause some Files got corrupted and it keeps crashing on me, so I went and grabbed my Boxes for Classic WoW and Burning Crusade, but in the Classic WoW box there is only one DVD, and its been so long since I've had to open that box up, I cant remember how many DVDs there were, was its only one or was there more. The reason I think there may have been more, is cause the one disc i have, when i put it in the DVD Drive, it doesn't auto play, and when i open it, there only two folders, and none of them are for setup/install, so i think I'm missing the install disc or something.

Ok i finally figured out the answer, if its on CD-ROM its 4-discs, but if its DVD like I have, its only one, so wtf, how come the disc wont let me install ?

just go and dl the wow installer form blizzard website it be faster then all the updating you will have to do form the disc

yea thats what I am doing, but just cause i'm OCD like that, its buggin me why the disc isn't letting me install, its bugs the hell outta me when i cant figure out why things aren't working properly

it wont autorun like i said, and when i open it, its just shows me 7 Files and 2 Folders, which are;

.Trashes
World of Warcraft (OS X).app
.VolumeIcon.icns
Installer Tome.mpq
Installer Tome 2.mpq
Installer Tome 3.mpq
Installer Tome 4.mpq
Installer Tome 5.mpq
Installer Tome 6.mpq

and thats it, and I have no idea wtf all that is. I dont get what the problem is. I've use the discs before on my desktop and laptop, so not sure whats goin on. Any ideas ??

and yes, like i said, I'm currently just downloading the client from Battle.net, but its gonna bug me unless i figure out what the problem with teh DVD is lol

for some reason the installer.exe is a hidden file on that disc, you won't see it if you dont have "Show hidden system files" turned on.

Take a deep breath. Remember that you are gaming on the most advanced platform known to man and have thrown off the bonds of physical media. Pick up the disc, and throw it in the garbage. That's where it belongs. PC games aren't delivered by archaic plastic discs, they appear as if by magic on the hard drive.

I don't think any of the files from the original disc are even valid anymore. The cataclysm patch replaced all of the old world data and the expansions obviously aren't on that disc.

It'll end up taking longer for you to install off the disc and patch the files instead of downloading the up to date client from the get go.

...and depending on your connection the magic may take some time to find it's way to your hard drive. :D

Indeed, to some people downloading 10+ gigabytes just isn't an option. It helps that you can continue it anytime though. I for one have "only" 3.55 Mbps which some people here would call crawling.

He's going to have to download it all anyhow because just about every file on that original disk has been completely replaced.

You have the Mac DVD. The collector's edition for PC has a similar setup but there should be a .exe and and autorun.ini on the disk.

Are you trying to install this disc on a PC?
