I asked myself the same question.

Get 2gb of ram. the difference between 2gb and 1gb is a few frames i games.
the difference between 2225 and 3338 is a few frames in games.
but 2gb and 1gb in anything else makes a big difference.
get the 2gb.

100% 2gb.
if you have amd mobo, then get 2x1024 mb, as their on chip (i.e. same on all mobo, as it does not have it) memory controller cannot support 4x512 mb ddr 400, and downgrades it to ddr333.

so get the 2gb
