I am trying to get the SMP client to work in Vista and was wondering if I can run it in a Windows XP Home virtual machine from within Vista. The only problem is that the virtual machine only see's one processor. Will the SMP client still work? Thanks in advance. I would run it in Vista, but I don't want to turn off UAC.

try it, but if VM only see's one processor/one core, I don't think so.

Are your running VMware or MS's Virtual Server/PC? If MS, you'll only get one processor as that's all it supports. If VM, you should be able to configure up to 2 on the free version.

I am running Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. I tried to install the newest version of Ubuntu, but it wouldn't install. I guess I can't do this from a vitual XP Home. Oh well. I'll try something else.
