Would this work/cool a duo?

Yeah, theres a retention bracket you can buy.

However it's kinda junky as it just uses 4 big screws on the back of the mobo instead of a backplate.

I stole the backplate from my 9500 (It's on an amd system) for the conversion as the stock thing was causing my mobo to bend in a way that I didn't think was good.

As for cooling, if your not going to be OCing a ton it'll work fine. I had one of the 92mm ones on an AMD 1.8 clocked to 2.4 and it worked great. However not surprisingly it sucks on the P4 3.0 I have it on now. But since the C2D chips have heat output similar to or lower than the AMD chips I'd guess it should work well.

For the price of that cooler, I'd go with something else... like the Cooler Master TX2 or Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. But both of those aren't the greatest. The Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B or Thermalright Ultima90 would be better.
