I really want to get myself one of those Chimei 22" LCD's but I'm not sure what would be my best option. Right now, I have a normal TV connected to the Xbox (XBMC) with the Z-5400's and I stream all my XviD's from my PC. The TV/Xbox setup is a few meters from the PC itself.
I'm currently using onboard soundcard and it's pretty decent as I don't watch anything on the PC. So I was thinking of buying a new soundcard and a Chimei. My idea is to connect the Z-5400's to the soundcard using optical and plug the Chimei into the VGA slot of my 6600GT graphics card (it's got both DVI and VGA). By doing this, I would be able to get rid of the Xbox altogether and so running 720p files would be possible. Would this actually work? Could I just run a video file using VLC and have it shown fullscreen on the VGA while have my regular desktop running on the DVI?
