Okay, I'm in the process of getting a new rig. A socket 478 Prescott, the 3.0E, and I plan on o/c'ing it. The mobo will be the Abit IC7-G.

I plan on getting:

TDX for CPU
Maze4GPU for my r9600xt
and maybe a chipset block, dont know if its necessary.

My radiator will be the 2Fresh heatercore (cause I hear those rock!)

Anywho, I planned on getting an Eheim 1250, but here is the catch: The radiator will be in the basement, and my computer will be on the second floor, will the Eheim be powerful enough to send the water up? I wont have a reservoir, so what I am thinking is since its a closed loop, the energy that it takes to push the water up will be matched with the energy given off as the water comes back down...

You are exactly right, the closed loop takes care of the height problem. The 1250 should be suitable for you, it's a pretty badass pump, and quiet as well.
 
Its not quite that easy.
Its true in a closed loop system, the pump does not need to "lift" the water. The pump only needs to overcome the friction losses associated with being circulated though the pipe and throughout the radiation. The required pump head (pressure that the pump must overcome to get circulation) is dependent upon the system piping. So it really depends on the length of the tubing, size, number of bends etc, etc.

I personally would go with a stronger pump going that distance. I think more info is needeed to make a proper recomendation. i.e. length of the run, tubing size and # of 90deg and 45 deg bends.

And you think that is good advice for a water system that potentially has 50' of 3/8' tubing?
Why not wait until all the info is in before making recomendations?
 
aright, thanks for info so far

it's gonna be 1/2" tubing, about 30 to 35 feet worth. There aren't, well im gonna try and make it so there aren't, to many 90 degree turns. The only sharp turns that I worry about are the ones that occur when the tube is leaving the wall to go into the rig or the radiator.

Now, I was planning on using those quick connect brackets, the ones that you can unhook quickly and the water wont leak out...
 
I personally would get an iwaki md30rzt at a minimum, but this is just a guess.
Just askin, but why do you need to make such a large run? Most w/c setups can be done inside the case itself.
 
I think an Eheim 1060 would be suffecient (600GPH, w00t w00t!)

quietness, the fact that the basement is about 10 degrees cooler, and the sheer [H] factor
