would plastic bezel survive shaping plexi?

I've seen a lot of people do the window mod on the doors of the Chieftec Dragon series cases. However I've noticed that everyone seems happy to simply slap a flat piece of plexi into the hole and grin like an idiot...

If I was going to do this mod I'd want to bend the window to match the curve of the bezel instead of leaving a flat spot. The thing is, could you simply use the bezel as a backdrop? Lay the plex on top heat gun till it matches and then you're done? or would I have to make something else with the same curve to use?

EDIT: I'm only thinking of using 1/8" plex so it should be easier to do at lower temps that the 1/4" That Splizzat used for the tutorial in the FAQ section...maybe that'd be easy enough to do without melting the bezel?

BUT unfortunately I don't have access to the rolling machines etc etc etc that guy did. I was trying to figure out if I could mold an 1/8" piece of plexi using a heat gun and the actual bezel itself without hurting anything...
 
I would be difficult to heat a 1/8 piece of plexi using a thin piece of plastic as a mold. That “how-to” was mine, and I mentioned that there could be simpler ways of bending a soft piece of sheet metal. I saw another thread you started asking about using like plaster as a mold. Why don’t you try that?
 
hey hey, BEAUTIFUL work on that window then Delbert. Really A+ work there. Was that tinted with like auto tint at the end to give that mirrored look?

Any-who, I didn't want to wait for the plaster to dry HAHA...no seriously I didn't. So I actually used some of YOUR methods to go ahead and use my actual bezel to shape the plex. I put the plexi on a cookie sheet in the oven at 400 degrees for about 5 minutes, when I pulled it out it behaved like a REALLY thick piece of vinyl sheet :)

Slap the bastard on the bezel fresh from the freezer and weigh down both sides and it curved nicely in the fridge. No shit! I'll post pics tomorrow if I can get hold of a digital camera. Did the work for the side panel window plexi as well, but that's strictly hush hush for right now. I started cutting the windows in the side panel, but it got dark and I forgot to get a pair of saftey glasses from my dads house when I borrowed his heat gun...and whoeverit was that wrote "I wear my sunglasses at night" was a moron. Couldn't see shit. Plus when I went to home depot today for supplies they didn't have any of the really nice reinforced cutoff wheels so I'm using the standard heavy duty red ones. They suck, I'm having to change them about every 5 inches. I'll try another hardware store tomorrow if I have time. Course my play is getting ready to open in a couple of weeks so I'm prolly not going to have a lot of time to work on this.

Honestly, the plexi didn't curve QUITE as perfectly as I would have liked, but honestly, I don't know if I could have gotten it where I wanted cause I'm REALLY trying to be a perfectionist on this project. It's my first mod for myself. I've done a considerable amount of work for other people, but never had the dough for my own. Now I'm simply putting forth the effort and HOPEFULLY I'll get this new job and have enough money coming in I can spare some actual paycheck money towards my computers instead of having to rely on my website for funding.
