Would like a memory guru to help

I just installed 4 gigs ocz intel xmp memory,after several attempts got it to work with
both sticks in o& 1 dimm slots channel b. unfortunantly it really afected cpu performance.
I stuck 2,1gig 1600 in 0&1 slots of channel a, now everything works great. I have now
overclocked this board easier than ever. Can you explain what is going,realizer at the
moment i certanatly am not complaining,but would like to undrstand what is going on.

Answered my own question,some areas will work,but others even bios screw up.
Iput the 4 gig memory in some slots where everything works.I believe in the future i will go with corsair, I have never thought that getting memory to work as it should would be such
a pain.
