Plugging up rca cables to a i/o x-fi upgrade, or just getting a rca to mini rca 1/8 cable and connecting it directly to the x-fi?
 
Assuming you are taking about decent cables I doubt you would ever notice the difference.
 
Even with the I/O upgrade connecting your pc to the x-fi thru the ad_link cable, which is analog?
 
Right. Creative wouldn't waste money on having additional converters in the I/O bay. Go straight from the card's rear panel line outs with a 1/8" adaptor.
