Would i benefit from a CPU upgrade?

- SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS
- Logitech Cordless MX700 Mouse
- Logitech Cordless Elite Keyboard
- Antec 1080AMG Silver Server Case
- 430Watt Antec TruePower PSU
- Zalman CNPS7000ACLu 92mm CPU Heatsink/Fan
- ViewSonic PF790 19" Flat CRT Monitor
- Creative FPS2000 Digital 4.1 Speakers.
- Windows XP Home
- Generic 3.5" Floppy Drive
- 5 Coolmaster Blue LED Fans



My next up grade is going to be a larger HD as i'm running out of space. However do you believe i would benefit, in terms of gaming, from going from my current 2.4C to a Athlon64?

As you got a very nice motherboard, upgrading to a 3.0 or better prescott with HT might be a good idea. However, if you don't care about changing the motherboad and cpu at the same time, a Athlon64 is a better choice for gaming.

Yeah i'd like to keep the Asus but any p4 that could keep up with even a mid level a64 is too expensive. It'd be cheaper to get the 64 AND the MB

sell the mobo and the cpu (or keep it as a spare) and upgrade to AMD
