Worth waiting for April price cuts?

Well, last month I was going to build a system, but I decided to wait until today (considering I was really busy between then and now anyway) and last month I was going to get the e6600. I wasn't sure if I was going to save money and get the e6600 or get the e6700 which was expected to be around 320 or something like that, but I'm not seeing any price change at newegg (even if ZZF has it at 340) I think I'll just get the e6600.

Anyone have any say on this? If the newegg price was lower than the ZZF price, would it make sense to get it instead? For now the e6600 remains in my cart.

Most here would say get the 6600 and o/c it. That way you have the speed and save some moo la. I don't o/c like I use to and if I went to a 6700 I would gain some speed, not a tremendous amount, but some. The Q6600 will look really good 3Q. I think NE will come down, not sure if it will be below ZZF, but I'm sure they'll lower it. I'm really surprised they haven't done it yet.

Street prices usually take a day or two (sometimes upto a week) to stabilize after vendor price cuts from AMD / Intel. Give it a few days if you want to eke out your extra $10 or so.

Some CPUs like the quad cores haven't been price corrected completely yet, not even close to as much as the 6600.

Yea not much price drops are occuring let alone the appearance of the E6320 on the egg...

The supposed price drop on 4/22 is a Sunday. I doubt anything will happen this weekend. It'll be Monday 4/23 at the earliest.

April 24th Pricing on the Egg:

E6400 $183 / $196
E6420 $183 / $197

Hasn't hit the bottom yet, but it's getting close.

Why does everyone use the Egg as a compairison for computer prices... there are prices cheaper out there you know?

For example, Mwave right now has the Q6600 for $525.

CPU Announced Price / Newegg Price
E6320 $163 / $173 / $169 (Mwave)
E6400 $183 / $196 / $187 (Ewiz)
E6420 $183 / $197 / $189 (Mwave)
E6600 $224 / $235 / $229 (Ewiz)
Q6600 $530 / $560 / $525 (Mwave)
