files wav. sounf files and mid. files didnt install~ corrupt xp disk or bad HDD??

What do you use it for, and what's your budget?
If you use it for nothing, and have a $50 buget, then it's not worth upgrading.
If you use it for anything at all, and have a budget of at least say.. $300 or so, definitely upgrade.

Is the system worth upgrading? Absolutely. Is it worth it to you? Don't know until we get a budget.

Didn't you just build a new system? Are you just trying to salvage a dying system? or do you want a good spare system?

just trying to get a good spare system and im about to build a new system
other specs:
SOLTEK Socket A
256MB SDRAM 133MHz
I did manage to install XP but the sound aint working i tried to install the driver but apparently i need to enabled the Sound controller in the BIOS but its password locked and i havent put a pass word on
Any ideas??? besides buying a cheap sound card
