Is it worth it for me to ditch my 6420 and upgrade to E6850?
What about the E6750 it's $80 less than the 6850.. worth it?

Will I notice it that much in day-to-day work?
(I constantly use photoshop, dreamweaver, and the internet for work)

Will I notice it in COD4?

Maybe I should just get a new HS/Fan and OC mine to 3.0ghz, would that be reliable?
I've had good luck with the " Thermalright XP-90C CPU Copper Heatsink " on my old 630 OC'd it 300mhz and was still cooler than OEM, and its been running 24/7 for over 2 years... Maybe I should just OC my 6420 to 3.0ghz with that HS.
 
If I were you, I would just overclock e6420. If you're just itching to upgrade, throw a Q6600 on there and overclock it.
 
I agree with batman there, If you spend most of your time with software that Can use the Muticore processors the Q6600 would be the best choice. If you are like me an do not have a lot of software that uses Multicores and needs speed, get a E6850 and bump it up a little.
 
I feel stupid asking this... but.

How do I know if Photoshop, FireFox, Dreamweaver and outlook can handle multi-cores.

I can say for sure that my old P4 3.3ghz ran Photoshop CS3 faster than my current 6420.
