A good friend of mine has a PC graveyard, and he's given most of it over to me. Now, I haven't tested all equipment to verify if they all work as they should, but for fun - let's assume they do.
Here's what he's given me:
- A socket 775 Intel 945GL MicroATX board that can apparently take Core 2 Duo's
- Celeron D 365 with said motherboard
- A Socket 939 Motherboard with an AMD Sempron 3200+
- About 2 gigs of RAM for the Socket 939 board
- ATX Case with a few fans
- Four IDE hard drives. I think one or two of these will go into my original Xbox's
- GeForce 7300GS PCI-E (not sure I'm going to keep this one)
- Radeon X800XT PE AGP 256MB (hopefully this one works - if it does, I'm throwing it in one of my AGP systems)
And that's all I can conjure up at the moment. I have some PC cases that these motherboards can go into. Would it be worth it to snag a used Core 2 Duo for my motherboard? Problem is that I don't have RAM, and would need to purchase some. I was thinking about dropping around $120 (and no more) and making it a decent little LAN box. Same thing with the 939 motherboard. Am I delusional? Or should I just build a decent little cheapey and flip it for more cash?
