Worth getting?

I was about to build a computer, if not within the next week by mid-august at the latest... I've got all the money now, im just collecting my thoughts and trying to get opinions..

anyway, the question is... I was originally going to get the 9800 pro and just upgrade later, but now I really like the idea of the x800 xt... I like the benchmarks, but is it worth getting this early? I think it was around $500, and thats a $300 price difference from the $200 9800 pro I was going to get... is it worth spending that much more? (also what brand should I get and where should I order it from?)

also it would go in an athlon 64 3400+ (1mb cache) 1gb of ocz enhanced latency memory, znf-250 chaintech board...

Yes I think its a good idea to go with the X800 but you chould get a 9800pro and flash the bios to make it a 9800XT if you dont want to spend the money on a high card. If you like ATI the X800 while please you for along time

But you have to get the 9800PRO 256mb version to do that not the 128mb

If you can afford the x800xt then go for it, it will produce some nice graphics in the next gen games

The x800 will definately "last" longer than the 9800pro. Unless you upgrade every cycle. Which it seems like you don't.

yeh, the x800 is worth it. just hold out till the price comes down to where it should be.

but how long will this be? Cause I was planning on ordering within the next 30 days or so... (as in would the price drop in 6 months or 1 year?)
