hey all,

do you guys think it'd be worth it to get a g5 1.67ghz with 768 ram 80gb hdd with 17" lcd for 800 CAD bux tax inc? or would it be a better route to wait it out and just get an intel?

thanks all!

There is no such thing as a 1.67 GHz G5. Do you mean the 17" 1.67 GHz PowerBook G4, or the 17" 1.6 GHz iMac G5? Or possibly just a Power Mac G5 with an external display?

Its a powermac g5 1.67 i believe with external 17" studio display - the 1 with the plastic bevel.

Again, there is no such thing as a 1.67GHz G5.

You guess? I suggest getting some more concrete information before shelling out 800 CAD.

At any rate, I think it might be worth it, depending on the video card. If it's the FX5200, it's not worth it.

that's a 3 year old machine. decent deal, but that's some aging (and REV A.) hardware.

Fairly problem-less revision A hardware, though. My brother had a rev A PMG5 up until a couple of weeks ago, and it didn't have any real issues.
