Worth getting sound card?

I got onboard AC97 right now and got it hooked up to a stereo system. This is a pretty big stereo system. Its 2.1 and each speaker had 1 mid, 2 tweeters and 1 7inch subwoofer. The stereo has its own amp and stuff built in, has EQ and all the works on this thing. The sound quality is excellent and goes super loud. I can hear when a sound is coming out of the tweeters and just excellent.

So, would it be worth the $90 to get an Audigy2? How much better can it sound when I got these high quality speakers?
 
Well there are 2 speakers. They are each like 1.5 feet tall.

Each has its own 7inch subwoofer, two tweeters and one mid speaker.
 
or spend $45 like i did and buy a refurbished audigy 2 from Creative. look on ebay and you'll see the creative factory store selling tons of them, buy it now for 39.99 + tax and shipping.
