The vreg on the evga 3x sli runs hot, quite hot. It was boiling out yesterday and it progressed to 100c running prime95. The computer then passed out in what I'm assuming is heat exhaustion. Cpu was at about 77c
This type of heat isn't normal, but I'm just making a simple point, the vreg runs hot.
When things are cool and dandy and normal, my cpu ranges from 35 to 62 after running p95 for a while, it is currently the only thing in the loop, which has a 3 unit rad. A more normal temp for the vreg is 58 min, 75 full load.
So just how much of a heat increase can I expect from adding the vreg and NB to the loop? Would you forsee any increased stability in the overall rig because of a cooler vreg? Or is the vreg temp being kinda hot not really a problem? I ask because well, it's quite rare to see people cool their full board. I don't really care for cooling the graphics card with water either. The added performance you get from slightly increased overclocks is pretty tiny compared to say...water cooling the cpu. I'd much rather have a rock solid stable motherboard that won't hinder my overclock, or well, anything. Will watercooling the entire thing help with that? I'm not doing anything super crazy either...4.0 on my 920, but I still want the rest of the mobo to keep up.
