I think this would be the place to post this, as it is more of repairing than playing games.
And, all mthough I don't think it's funny at all, you can feel free to laugh all you want at it
Anyway...
A while back, I was bored, and wanted to play GC. Unfortunately, The power would go on in the system, but the disc wouldn't spin. Then I realized...
My cat had pissed on the GC and SOAKED IT in PISS!!!!
Any suggestions on how to fix it/clean it out? My Nintendo warranty is long gone, and it'll cost me 40 bucks to hire a local place to fix it so...
Any suggestions on what to do? I'm thinking of just opening it up, cleaning everything, then let it dry and try it out. suggestions????????/

Open it, turn it on and see/hear the source of the problem.

if its the lazer, you can clean it w/a Qtip and rubbing alchahol *i think*

if its the thing that makes the disc spin, try and fix it somehow ?

oh ya and opening the gamecube will void any warranty that you still may have.

Cookie for your cat :p ;)

Anyways, yeah, opening it, cleaning it, and letting it all dry would probably be the best way to get it working again. And hope it doesn't reak of piss when it starts to get hot.

Then once it's working, sell it and buy an xbox, or PS2... just kidding, Game Cubes are fine...;)

Haha! That so funny (sorry)
Your going to have a hell of a time opening it up so look at the links Andy has gathered: http://www.drxandy.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16

It could just be me but I had a hell of a time try the pen trick (and failed) but you mileage may vary.
Hey Kakyoin, your link is asking for me to sign in (?)
BTW you might want to check out what Andy did to his Gamecube. Freaking awesome!

Just get a new one, that one is toast...

*snicker* LOL :D j/k ;)

Ya it's a Video Game forum, you might need to register to look at that forum. If you dont want to do that, Here's what it says:

"According to the guys over at the Penny Arcade forums Target B&M stores have recently dropped the price of a GameCube to $69.99, no rebates required! This included the bundles at at least one store (one person called and confirmed the price drop on a Cube-WindWaker bundle, but they were OOS), and seems to be limited to Indigo consoles. As the link to the forum shows, YMMV on this, but if you've been looking for a Cube (like me, ) this is the time to get one!" - breakz08 @ VGTalk

I suggest you buy a new one. Cat pee is possibly the worst smelling things ever, even worse than spoiled milk. My old cat had peed on my mother's purse when it was sick with kitty cancer. Anyway it was the day before it died, so you might want to observe your cat to see if it is sick....

Thats a pretty good price, I don't remember the local T having the same price though. I you can always get a used one for that price too, IIRC my friends has a few used ones in his shop so they shouldn't be too hard too find. Damn I just need to get some more games for mine.

Cat whiz is seriously corrosive. I'd 86 it......problems later if not already.

You can wash the piss out of it (..... .....) with isopro alcohol....and hope. Long term, like I said....IMHO it's R&R time.

My $00.02....B.B.S.
