Did you guys see my new 200' x 80' HDTV? Yeah, I'm just letting those guys down in Charlotte use it for a little while. By the way, someone needs to tell Dale Earnhardt Jr. that he is looking at the wrong display in this picture (what a n00b).

Guessing its a training simulator. Most high end simulators don't look as great as consumer games.

I never understood things like this. I think i would find a 30" 2560x1600 monitor parked on my desk far more appealing than a jumbo-tron viewed at half a mile away (which probably views like a 17" monitor on a desk). I suppose it's the novelty rather than the practicality, but hey, it's cool.

I played racing simulators on a giant screen located on the top deck (pool deck) of a cruise ship once. It was more the surrounding environment than the screen that did it for me then. :)

I find it more annoying how a nascar driver is playing a nascar game on a nascar screen while on a nascar track.

Is it really "HD" resolution, probably not. (Big == HD to normal people.) And what's the electrical power requirement?

For NASCAR? What a waste. :(

Although I do have to say the man-sized remote control is fucking awesome.

That is iRacing, and I assure you it looks 1000 times better than that under normal circumstances.

That big display has not only the resolution, but the entire framing of the screen fracked up.

Dale's Two Thousand Inch TV...

Ev'rybody come and see

Dale's Two Thousand Inch TV.

Just ordered 3 with a gutted GT-R body for a new eyefinity setup I'm building in the parents garage.

The guy who maintains it must have one big-ass bottle of iKlear hanging off his belt !

The image that's on the monitor is different from the one displayed on the HDTV

The aspect ratio is wrong. At 16:9 a 200' wide screen would need to be 112.5' tall, not 80'!

Considering the top deck is usually the topless deck I can understand, but it would be [h]ard to concentrate. :D

?!?!?

It's a screen at a SuperSpeedway, and you're comparing it to a 30" monitor at your desk?
You DO realize that its primary purpose is not to allow Dale Earnhardt Jr. to play iRacing on a rig placed at trackside.

sarcasm on
Yep, definitely infinitely more practical to install thousands of 30" monitors hanging 24" in front of each seat at the race track. Surely they would have learned that lesson after the huge debacle of installing two HUGE screens at the Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.
sarcasm off

wow, that is huge, where do i get one? it would be perfect for BFBC2 when i am driveing a tank. it would feel so real :D

Assuming the pixels are square and 200'x80' screen and 720p rez, then each pixel is 4.71" diagonally ...

My etch-a-sketch has higher pixel density than that. :p

* not meant to be technically accurate, I'm just kidding, though I'd appreciate the info.

Yeah, but not the best way to show off your glorious new screen.

Plus like someone else said, the tron isn't even the same imagine as the monitor. Strange. Whoever did the marketing for this photo should be fired.
