World Tour Wii: Limitation on the number of bands?

We've had GH: World Tour for the Wii since Christmas. My wife wants to make a new band to start her own career, and we can't find the option anywhere.

I found a message board that suggested a limitation on the number you create. We've got three--can anyone confirm if that is true?
