I am building a workstation pretty soon, and I have basically everything figured out except for the video card. I am not going to be doing any CAD work or anything, just some video editing, DVD watching, and photoshop. What I am looking for is 2D image quality, and good video quality. I am not going to be doing any gaming on this computer.

From the research I've done already, I have found that matrox is probably the way to go, but those Nvidia Quadro's look nice too. I am trying to keep it under $250.

thanks a lot,
eli

The Quadro's are the best workstation graphic cards if you have the money.

Get a 6800gt and soft-mod it to Quadro, nice and cheap + powerful if you want a workstation card.

For what you said youll be doing, just buy a mid-range gfx card(6600gt'ish) and spend the rest on RAM, lots and lots of RAM. Get at least 2 giggies if your serious bout it heh.

Matrox is your best friend for 2D image Quality =)
get a Matrox Mellenium 650/750 don't waste your money on a Quadro unless your using a program that requires it =p

the 650/750 also come in PCIe or AGP
