The name of this case comes from my idea to make a false floor to hide the wiring. I thaught this name would apply to the overall theme I have planned out.

For this case I dont want ONE wire visible. I know this is quite a stretch and I probably will have to make some sacrfices but oh well.

Im probably going to have to make some covers for the hard drive(s), DVD, CD Burner. I want to water cool this thing so I dont have a problem with tubing showing.

I started out with an Enermax 305 Modified case. I won it for my work on Project:ZERO and its been sitting their collecting dust for awhile now. I began this case by first making all the modifications(herebye referred to as "mods") that I think anyone would make. I removed the front plexiglass and aluminum and made a large circular cut using an adjustable hole saw. I had to use a piece of aluminum to hold the hole saw in place because the plastic was tearing. This proccess turned out to be harder than I thaught it would, the surface of the bezel wasnt flat so it hard for the saw to cut.

The next thing I did was jot down a few plans. Since I want there to be no visible wiring Im deciding to make a false floor, I will probably use some plexiglass and aluminum. One source of inspiration lately has been the game Tron 2.0, I like all of the geometric shapes of the game and I think it would be nice to incorporate

this somehow into the new floor I will have to make. I will also be doing this to the top, I had originally planned on making a grid of holes but I was unable to get each hole centered properly and I decided to cut th top out leaving a 1" lip all the way around. Unfortunetly my jigsaw wasnt quite up to the task.

I made a few markings on the inside of top panel to ensure I didnt use the area for something else and find out later that I couldnt due to an obstruction.

This has been just a quick type up of my project log. Ive just been dying to get a new one up.

I was originally planning on something a bit more dark and gothic, something along the lines of...oh lets say....Crimsons Alien case. With Skulls(I have a ton of these now too) and everything dead like. Thereare a few details on my site about it. WWW.DETN8R.NET I still plan on doing, but not anytime soon.

Dont expect alot of updates on this log because Ive been a bit busy and a bit lazy lately. Odd combination huh?

I too hate wires, but I'm curious how you're going to deal with issues like the digital audio cable to your optical drive or if your video card needs to be plugged into your PSU directly... good luck though! =)

Very Good Points, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I dont think it will be that hard.

Here's a thought, I am thinking about doing this, use a peice of mirror as your floor bottom, not only does it block out the wires but it gives a reflection of everything above it and any lights etc... I havn't gotten around to installing my mirror's yet so I dunno if it looks dumb or not but I've never seen it before.

Do you realy need those optical cables anymore? I havent used them for some time.

thats easily fixed you make longer wires for these devices and literaly glue them along the edges of the cards intil they are to the case frame then you run em around. takes patience to do but if done right you cant see them unless you really look for them.

When you said false floor I was pictureing something different. Loosing a little depth in the case by literally raising where the motherboard rests. You would need an abornally wide case to do this. But give yourself 1-2 inches of free space underneath the motherboard for wire routing. Then come out and over. You could use flat cabling and do a little optical illusion with a digital camera and photo quality printing. Get a 1:1 scale color print of your motherboard. Route your cabling as you need from underneath. Then go back and put the cables into a flat format. Apply your cable "camo" and to the casual glance you wouldn't be able to see your cabling at all. And since you plan on doing water cooling of your components you don't need to worry too much about air obstruction.

heh, only if you listen to audio cds in your cd-rom drive, that's pretty much the only use for that cable anymore...

I wonder how he's going to do the ATX cable...

Would be really neat if it was something unique instead of putting it in a tube to go with the w/c

To be really cool... he could solder off the atx connector and put it on the other side of the mobo... then rewire the psu-side connector to be reversed

that *would* be pretty [H]ard to do, but it would get rid of the cable once and for all

A mirror as a false floor sounds like a really good idea

Actually, you don't even need it for that, if you're using fairly modern software. I don't have that cable for either of my optical drives, but I do listen to audio CDs in them occasionally.

You don't need the cable in modern systems, but, I if I remember right, when you use it, it doesn't go through the o/s and taxes the CPU less while you play a CD.

I dont think Ill be raising the floor 1inch . But it will be raised enough to rout most of the wires without any problems.
