Howdy Fellah's. I'm about to start my first mod ever and I want it to be pretty nice. I just inherited my dad's old 500mhz Gateway and I'm going to use the guts for a LAN intranet server. I thought the case was neat and would be prime to mod so I went out and bought another case to store the guts in. I think I am probably going to have it themed around X-Men, Beast or Cyclopse, or have some fun with some UV stuff..... I still don't know how to resize pictures ;p so please bear with me while it's in off site link on to my personal site....

I will probably add to this every weekend due to school and some other conflicting stuff. For now I'm just curious as to what you guys think...

Ideas / Thoughts

1) Because the 2nd drive bay is a 3 1/2 inch, I'll probably put some type of controller there
2) I will probably keep the side the way it is and add some crazy random shape / blade cuts into it and put no glare glass behind it.....

why dont you use acrylic or plexiglass instead of anti glare glass. trust me glass is a bitch to work with

whoo good luck with that my friend has one of thoes cases and it took us an hour just to cut a hole in the front for a 120 mm fan. but we did some pretty sweet stuff with that case. it has potential. I just want to warn you that the metal is really thick so even cutting a good sized window will take a long

Thanks for the responses:

I like the look of the anti glare glass. I don't know anything else so I don't really know how hard anything else is....

Glad to know I'm not alone ;) Curious though, did you mess with any of the wiring? I'm going to get a new PSU for it when I put stuff in it. The main wiring problem I see is the power / led's wires, how they're bundled into one connector, and vice versa when using the old motherboard and parts in a new case.....

Ideas / Thoughts

3, extention to 2) I'll also probably put some lights in there and hope to have some kind of glowing effect through the grill design ;)

Good luck with the glass

btw, a small tip : glass is usually a very good thermal insulator -> make sure you have decent airflow

And be sure to wear a ton of protection... little fibrels of glass in your lungs or eyes could have permanent consequences. Good luck.
