let's see how many of you guys remember any of this stuff :)

I've got a P3 tualatin running in an Asus CUSL2. I'm having two main problems with this motherboard: AGP is not enabled, and I need more CPU voltage!

1.7v is selectable in the bios, but it still sets it at 1.6v max. I know I can use some pin tricks to up the stock voltage, but I'd rather modify the voltage regulator if possible.

AGP is not working at all. I have a 9600pro that's working, but fast writes are disabled as well as AGP. there are NO AGP options in the bios (I can't remember if there ever were). There is a newer CUSL2 bios (going to try it soon), but I'm wondering if a bios from the TUSL2 would work (it's essentially the same board). I know there were some hacked/tuner bios files available years back, but finding them now might be pretty tough, but I'd like to try some of those as well.

I know it's outdated and a little pointless, but this CPU has worked great in this board for a while now, but I need a little more voltage to make it stable at 11x133, and working AGP would be nice! :p if I can hit 1.4ghz, I'm sure I can "play" doom 3 on it ;)

I honestly dont think a p3 could cut it for doom3 even with those settings.

Good luck.

well, the minimum specs are a P4 1.5ghz.. a P3 1.4ghz would pwn that CPU. my main limitations are my memory bandwidth *cry* and of course the 9600 isn't a screamer either. I know I can tune it, it might not be the prettiest but it'll work :)

well I flashed to the newest CUSL2 bios, got AGP but now no voltage adjustments at all

oh well, looks like it's pin trick time for me..

I'd say it could do it. those P3's were good chips. And that 9600 will run it, just turn some settings down. Everyone here goes around saying a 9600SE or NP would never run farcry but I just witnessed a 9600NP on a non - Nforce2 board with 4x AGP and an 1800+ run Farcry at high (not all the way up) settings pretty darn well. It may not look the prettiest but it should work.
