work unit to take 41 days!

work unit will be completed in 41 days on the rig in my sig. is there somthing wrong?
 
First question... did it just start the WU? If it did, sometimes it takes an hour or so for the estimate to normalize out to a more realistic estimate.

Question number two, do you have SSE boost enabled using the -forceasm switch? If you had the client die and aren't using this switch, sometimes the SSE will disable itself causing WU's to run much more slowly.

 
started work unit few hours ago. only completed 4 frames. What is -forceasm and how do i check its status/enable it?

edit: i have put -forceasm on the end of the target in properties guessing this is how to enable it. makes no difference..​
 
Which of the clients/OS'es are you running? Normally we try and steer people away from the graphical client as it tends to be a little unstable, and its estimates aren't real good.

As for -forceasm, it makes the F@H client restart with SSE boost every time it starts. Sometimes if F@H dies and restarts, it will disable SSE under the assumption that it was the reason F@H died, that switch prevents it. Putting it in the target box is the correct way to use it. :)
 
im running windows xp pro sp2. was using the graphical now using the command line client. it wont start as a service now and if it does it is stupidly slow.
 
Look in the FAHlog.txt file.

3 hours for 4 frames so your times may well be right.

My Semperon 2600+ is currently folding a 2125.
EMIII shows frame times of 50min 26sec, and estimates 85.5 hours for the WU.

So, if you've been folding for a few hours, 4 frames may be in the realm of reality. I wonder if the 41 days is the deadline...?



 
oh it might be the deadline :eek:. not sure, given up on folding for the day, going to get a few dedicated systems up before the end of the week. :p
